Products I Regret Buying In Spring!

It’s sitting there on the store shelf, starring into your soul. You take a look and fall into the captivating product. It promises so much! Yet once used, it merely sits there. Now it sits in the dark corner of the bathroom pantry, collecting dust. Yes, I am dramatically talking about the products I wish I hadn’t wasted my money on. Now these products are based on my experience and to warn other beauties that this isn’t as great as it looks. It does not dictate whether or not it will work for you. I will be explaining my hair, makeup, and facial products that never worked for me. Let’s begin!

rollers

First I will start with hair products. To begin, I bought these spiral hair rollers from Sally’s Beauty Supply awhile ago and have tried them hundreds of times and not once did they work. They’re by HairArt and I only bought these because the Conair Spiral Rollers were out of stock and I was in a hurry. They come in packs of 10 and so I bought two packs because it usually takes about 15-20 regular rollers for my hair. One pack costs $6.59. I opened one, watched the videos, read the instructions, and yet it still wouldn’t stay in my hair. I tried clipping it, trying with wet and dry hair, applied product to try and hold it, nothing worked. My hair would get caught in the little white circles, and when I took them out it would rip my hair out. Definitely regret buying this. I returned the other bag, but the opened one is never used.

The Pantene Beautiful Lengths shampoo + conditioner are also products I wish I hadn’t bought. I really like the idea of this product because they are donating hair to cancer victims because I had donated inches and inches to Locks of Love in the past, but focusing on the product it just didn’t do anything. I have used Pantene Medium-Thick shampoo + conditioner and I really liked that, but the conditioner wasn’t even moisturizing my hair and made it feel heavy. Each bottle costs $4.99.

Now onto makeup! The next product isn’t necessarily a regret because I still used it, but I do think I waste money on it: the Physicians Formula Twins Concealer. With this product it has two different types, one that has facial and under-eye concealer, and this one that has facial and the extra green cover-up. The directions said to apply the green and then the facial concealer side, but the process just made completing my makeup twice as long. The green never blended well either, but on the positive side the facial concealer was great. I never used the green side, so it just was a waste until I used up the facial one. I now use the double skin tone concealer for under-eyes and facial and it’s marvelous. It costs $7.99.

The Wet’N’Wild H2O Proof Pencil Liner is the next regretful product. I bought this not necessarily for the proof, but I thought the color was a gorgeous royal blue. It literally took me 10 minutes to open it, maybe mine was defected but I had to cut off the top and sharp plastic went every where. Once I tried to use it, the product wouldn’t even rub on my eye. I sharpened it, used a lighter, and tried smudging it. Still nothing worked. Β The pencil eventually split down the side so now it can’t even be salvaged. It costs $1.49.

This product is a lot like the concealer where I didn’t like it, but I just used it to use it up. That would be the Covergirl Clean Pressed Powder. I used 210 Classic Ivory. This powder was alright, decent coverage, but after a few weeks of using it the powder starting to smell weird. It smelled like something was wrong with the mixture, and it wasn’t my home because I keep all makeup products clean. The mirror on the inside eventually broke off so I would use them as separates. It costs $5.94.

My next product is the Covergirl Shadow Blast. With this eye-set, you are supposed to easily be able to sweep these across your eye lids and it would blend together for that sultry look. Well, I never experienced this. The product was just really heavy and greasy on my lids. I do use the silver separately, but never the dark purple. For this one stick, it costs $6.94.

For my facial products, these can vary from skin type, but these are the ones I truly regret. The first is the Olay Pore Minimizing Cleanser + Scrub. It’s not that this product caused facial damage, it just didn’t do a single thing. I liked how it was a cleanser and a scrub, so it would lather and scrub my face. The scrub didn’t clean anything out, and after weeks of usage I never saw a change. It costs $6.09 and won’t be repurchased.

The next facial product is the Keep Me Clean Facial Wipes, and I would use these to help get my foundation and eye makeup off at the end of the day. These wipes smelled really good and I love the Formula 10.0.6 Mud Mask, but this literally didn’t take anything off. A normal makeup wipe would take 1-2 wipes for full eye makeup and foundation, this took probably 3-5 per day. This was because I would have to keep scrubbing to get it off with the wipe. One pack is $5.99.

This final product is one that I truly regret ever using it. This is the Clean & Clear Popped Pimple Relief Drying Paste. I have always loved Clean & Clear and use them daily, but this actually caused my face to break-out more due to the spreading of blemish bacteria. My skin reacted so harshly to this product that I had to go to the doctor and get it under control. My forehead looked like it had been set on fire, which is never common for my skin. This product is probably the one I regret buying the most. It costs $7.79.

I hope this helped shed a light on that beauty aisle. I will try and do this after a season ends!
